We designed Hard As Nails Obstacle Mud Race as an opportunity to bring the community together for a cause. Hard As Nails is a race that is run in Colorado, made by Coloradans and supports local communities, develops local partnerships and outreach, and builds an event that unites the community. We believe that an event of this size has the opportunity to offer altruistic means. In coordination with the City of Westminster, we go to help support two local non-profit organizations: Growing Home and the Westminster Legacy Foundation.
Growing Home
Growing Home helps to support underserved populations in the Denver-Metro area, providing opportunities for food, shelter, healthcare, and homeless prevention programs. Founded in 1998, the organization helps support families in times of crisis by assisting with emergency rent and utility payments, affordable housing initiatives, life skills classes on topics such as employment, finances, and nutrition, and free medical services through a pop-up clinic. Furthermore, Growing Home also helps support education by supporting literacy classes, pre-school initiatives, tutoring services, and providing school supplies for students.
City of Westminster Legacy Foundation
The Westminster Legacy Foundation helps to support philanthropic projects around the City of Westminster. The Foundation helps to support open spaces, education, libraries, cultural arts, social services, and programs for youth and seniors. The goal of the Foundation is to aid in the betterment of the Westminster community. With an extensive historical legacy, with the establishment of Westminster Castle, to it’s sprawling open space system, the Foundation aims to preserve the quality of life for it’s residents as well as preserving the city’s historical culture for future generations.
